Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, start from the center of Kyoto City. Take the Route 1 (Kawaramachi-dori) heading south until you reach the intersection with Bukoji-dori. Turn right onto Bukoji-dori and continue for about 1.5 kilometers. When you reach the intersection with Omiya-dori, turn left. Continue on Omiya-dori for approximately 800 meters. Look for the sign indicating the entrance to the temple on your right. You can park in designated areas nearby. Note that parking fees may apply, typically around ¥500 for a few hours.

  • Public Transportation

    If you prefer public transportation, start by taking the JR Kyoto Line from Kyoto Station to Omiya Station. The ride takes about 10 minutes. Once you arrive at Omiya Station, take Exit 2. From there, walk straight for about 5 minutes until you reach the intersection. Turn left onto Omiya-dori and walk approximately 10 minutes. You will see Kimyoin on your right side.
