Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from the Kyoto countryside, take Route 162 towards Kyoto City. Once you reach the city, look for signs pointing to the city center (Chuo). You will eventually merge onto Route 1 (Gojo-dori). Continue on Gojo-dori until you reach the intersection with Karasuma-dori. Turn left onto Karasuma-dori, and after several blocks, you will find a parking facility near Sanjo Shopping Street. Parking fees typically range from 300 to 600 yen per hour.

• Bus

  For public transportation, catch a bus from your location in the Kyoto countryside to Kyoto Station. You can use the 100 or 206 buses to get to the city center. Once you arrive at Kyoto Station, transfer to bus number 17 or 205, which will take you to 'Sanjo Keihan' bus stop. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to the Sanjo Shopping Street located at 1-1 Imashinzaikenishicho, Nakagyo Ward. The bus fare from the countryside to Kyoto Station is approximately 300 to 500 yen, and the fare from Kyoto Station to Sanjo is about 230 yen.

• Train

  If you prefer using trains, you can take the JR Nara Line from a station in the Kyoto countryside to Kyoto Station. Once at Kyoto Station, switch to the Karasuma Line and travel towards Kokusaikaikan, getting off at Sanjo Station. The Sanjo Shopping Street is just a 3-minute walk from the station. Train fares will vary based on the distance but expect to pay around 400 to 800 yen for the trip.

  For a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from your location in the Kyoto countryside. Simply give the driver the address '1-1 Imashinzaikenishicho, Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto, 604-8801'. Taxi fares from the countryside to Kyoto can vary significantly depending on the distance, but expect to pay upwards of 2000 yen.
