Getting There

  • Public Transportation

    From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Line subway (green line) in the direction of Kokusaikaikan. Get off at Shijo Station (approximately 5 minutes). Once you exit the station, take the East exit and walk towards Shijo Street. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Kawaramachi Street. Turn left at the intersection and walk north for about 5 minutes until you see the entrance to Shinkyogoku Shopping Street on your right.

    If you are staying in the Gion district, you can reach Shinkyogoku Shopping Street by walking. Head west on Shijo Avenue from Gion for about 15 minutes. When you reach the intersection with Kawaramachi Street, turn right and continue walking north for about 5 minutes. The entrance to Shinkyogoku Shopping Street will be on your right.

    From Kyoto Station, board bus number 100 or 206, heading towards Kurama or Kiyomizu-dera. Get off at the Shijo Kawaramachi bus stop (approximately 15 minutes). From there, walk north on Kawaramachi Street for about 5 minutes until you see the entrance to Shinkyogoku Shopping Street on your right.
