    If you are driving from central Kyoto, take the R1 road towards the north. After approximately 30 minutes, follow the signs to Murasakino. Turn left onto Murasakino Daitokujicho and continue for about 5 minutes. Kōtō-in Temple will be on your right at 73-1 Murasakino Daitokujicho. There is limited parking available near the temple.

    To reach Kōtō-in Temple using public transportation, start at Kyoto Station. Take the Kyoto City Bus number 204 or 205 towards Kitaoji Station. Get off at the Murasakino Daitokujicho stop after about 40 minutes. From the bus stop, walk approximately 10 minutes north along Murasakino Daitokujicho, and you will find Kōtō-in Temple at 73-1 Murasakino Daitokujicho on your right. The bus fare costs around 230 yen.

  • Bicycle

    For those who prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in central Kyoto. Head north towards the Daitoku-ji area, following the bike lanes along the river.
