Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Kyoto, take the Meishin Expressway heading towards Nara. Take the Nara IC exit and merge onto Route 169. Continue on Route 169 until you reach the junction for Route 24. Take Route 24 towards Nara City. Follow the signs for Nara Park and once you enter the city, look for signs directing you to Ikenocho. The NARA Visitor Center & Inn is located at 3 Ikenocho, which should be clearly marked. There is parking available nearby, so look for public parking signs.

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR Nara Line toward Nara. The train ride takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Nara Station, exit the station and head towards the bus terminal. Take bus number 97 or 100 from the bus terminal towards Ikenocho. The bus ride will take approximately 10 minutes. Get off at the 'Ikenocho' stop, and the NARA Visitor Center & Inn will be within a short walking distance. Look for the building at 3 Ikenocho.
