Getting There

  • Bus

    From Nara Station, take the Nara Kotsu Bus (bound for Nishikujo) from the bus terminal directly outside the station. Ride the bus for about 30 minutes and get off at the 'Nishikujo Ikenouchicho' stop. After disembarking, walk a short distance north along Nishikujo Ikenouchicho Street, and you will find Saifuku-ji Temple on your left.

  • Train

    From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line towards Kyoto. Alight at Kyoto Station, which takes about 45 minutes. From Kyoto Station, transfer to the JR Nara Line and take the train towards Nara. Get off at the 'Nishikujo' Station. From Nishikujo Station, it's a 10-minute walk to Saifuku-ji Temple. Exit the station, head east on Nishikujo Ikenouchicho Street, and the temple will be on your left.

  • Walking

    If you are already in the Minami Ward area of Kyoto, you can walk to Saifuku-ji Temple. Start at the nearest landmark, such as the Kyoto Tower. Head south on Karasuma Dori, then turn right onto Nishikujo Ikenouchicho. Walk straight for approximately 15 minutes, and you will reach the temple, which is located on your left.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the rental shops near Nara Station. Head towards the Nara Kotsu Bus terminal and follow the signs to Nishikujo Ikenouchicho Street. It is about a 40-minute bike ride to Saifuku-ji Temple. Once on Nishikujo Ikenouchicho, continue cycling straight until you see the temple on your left.
