Getting There

  • Public Transport - Bus

    From Kyoto Station, take Bus number 100 or 206. Both routes will take you towards the Higashiyama area. After approximately 15 minutes, disembark at the 'Gion' bus stop. From there, walk towards Shijo Avenue and head east. Cross the river via the Shijo Bridge, and continue walking straight until you reach Matsubara Street. Turn left, and Miyagawa-chō will be on your right, along the canal.

  • Public Transport - Subway

    From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Line subway towards Kokusaikaikan and get off at 'Shijo' station (about a 10-minute ride). Transfer to the Hankyu Kyoto Line at Karasuma Station. Take the train to 'Gion-Shijo' station. Once you exit the station, walk towards the river, cross over the Shijo Bridge, and head east until you reach Matsubara Street. Turn left, and you will find Miyagawa-chō on your right.

    If you are staying in the Gion district or nearby, simply walk to the Kamo River. Head towards the Shijo Bridge and cross it. After crossing, turn left and walk along the river path. When you reach Matsubara Street, turn left, and Miyagawa-chō will be on your right, just a short stroll along the canal.
