Public Transportation
From any location in the Kyoto countryside, head to the nearest train station, such as Kyoto Station. Take the JR Nara Line or the Kintetsu Kyoto Line to Kiyomizu-Gojo Station. From Kiyomizu-Gojo Station, transfer to the Kyoto City Bus (Line 100 or 206) towards Gion or Kiyomizu-dera. Get off at the Kennin-ji Temple stop. From there, it’s a short walk to Kennin-ji, located at 584 Komatsucho, Higashiyama Ward.

If you are driving, use a GPS navigation system and input the address: 584 Komatsucho, Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto 605-0811. From the Kyoto countryside, take the Kyoto City Loop Road (Route 1) towards the city center. Follow the signs for Higashiyama and then for Kiyomizu-dera, which will lead you to the area around Kennin-ji. There is public parking available nearby, but be sure to check for parking fees, which can vary.
