Getting There

    Start by taking the JR Kyoto Line from Kyoto Station. Board a train bound for Maibara and get off at Takashima Station. The journey takes about 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Takashima Station, exit the station and look for the bus stop located directly outside.

  • Bus

    From Takashima Station, take the Shiga Kotsu Bus (Route 1) towards Ukawa. The bus ride should take approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the 'Shirahige Shrine' bus stop. As you disembark, you will see the Shirahige Shrine Torii facing the water.

  • Walking

    After getting off the bus, walk towards the lake where the Shirahige Shrine Torii is located. The torii gate is quite prominent and can be seen from the bus stop. It is a short 5-minute walk straight ahead.
