Public Transport - Subway
If you are starting from Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Subway Line (green line) towards Kokusaikaikan. After three stops, get off at Karasuma Oike Station. At Karasuma Oike Station, transfer to the Tozai Subway Line (light blue line) towards Uzumasa Tenjingawa. Ride for two stops and get off at Nijojo-mae Station. Once you exit the station, walk straight for about 5 minutes, and you will arrive at Nijō Castle, located at 541 Nijojocho, Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto.
Public Transport - Bus
From Kyoto Station, you can also take a bus. Board bus number 9 or 50 from the bus terminal at Kyoto Station. Ride for about 15 minutes and get off at the Nijojo-mae bus stop. From there, it's just a short 3-minute walk to the entrance of Nijō Castle, located at 541 Nijojocho, Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto.
Walking
If you are near the city center, you can walk to Nijō Castle. For example, if you are at Kyoto Tower, head north along Karasuma Street until you reach the intersection with Oike Street. Turn right onto Oike Street and walk straight for about 15 minutes. You will see Nijō Castle on your left. The address is 541 Nijojocho, Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto.
