If you're traveling by car, start from central Musashi and take the Ken-O Expressway. Follow signs for Hachioji and exit at Hachioji IC. From the IC, follow Route 16 for approximately 10 km until you reach the Takaomachi area. Look for signs directing you to Takao Mountain. There is parking available near the trailhead for a fee of around 500 yen per day.

For those using public transportation, take the JR Chuo Line from Musashi to Takao Station. This will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Takao Station, follow the signs for the Takao Mountain Trail. It’s approximately a 20-minute walk from the station to the trailhead. You'll also find local shops and eateries along the way if you wish to grab a snack before your hike.

Bus
Alternatively, you can take a bus from Takao Station. After exiting the station, head to the bus terminal and board the bus heading to Takaosan (Takao Mountain). The bus ride will take about 15 minutes, and the fare is around 300 yen. Get off at the Takaosanguchi bus stop, which is near the trailhead for the Biwa Falls Course.
