If you are driving from Nara countryside, take the Nishi-Meihan Expressway towards Kyoto. Follow the signs to Kyoto and exit at the Kyoto-minami Interchange. After arriving in the Kawaramachi district, park in one of the nearby public parking lots (like the Takashimaya parking lot).
