Getting There

Car
If you are driving from Kyoto city, take the Route 1 towards Nara and then merge onto the Route 162 towards Uji. Continue on Route 162 for about 30 minutes. As you approach the shrine, follow the signs indicating 'Kyoto Dai-jingū Shrine' and turn onto Teianmaenocho. The shrine will be on your left at 622 Teianmaenocho, Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto. Parking is available nearby, but be prepared for a small fee (around 500 yen).

Public Transportation
From Kyoto Station, take the JR Nara Line towards Nara and get off at Uji Station (approximately 20 minutes). From Uji Station, transfer to the Keihan Uji Line and take a train to Chūjiyama Station (around 10 minutes). Once you arrive at Chūjiyama Station, exit and head towards Route 162. Follow the signs for about a 15-minute walk to Kyoto Dai-jingū Shrine located at 622 Teianmaenocho, Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto. Make sure to check the train schedules as they may vary throughout the day.
