    If you are driving, start from the center of Nikko. Head south on Route 120 (also known as Nikko-Utsunomiya Road). Follow the signs for Nikkō Tōshogū. After about 5 minutes, you will reach the entrance of the Nikkō Tōshogū Shrine complex. The Nikkō Tōshogū Art Museum is located within the shrine grounds at 2301 Sannai. Parking is available near the shrine entrance, but there may be a parking fee, usually around 500 yen.

    From Nikko Station, take the bus bound for Nikkō Tōshogū (East Japan Railway Company buses). The bus ride takes approximately 10 minutes. Get off at the 'Tōshōgū' stop, and you will find yourself at the entrance of the Tōshogū Shrine complex. The Nikkō Tōshogū Art Museum is located inside the grounds, a short walk from the entrance. A one-way bus fare is around 300 yen.
