Car
If you are driving, head towards Route 8 from the center of Wakasa. Follow signs for Maibara. After approximately 30 minutes, take the exit toward Samegai. Continue on Samegai Road for about 10 minutes until you reach 95 Samegai, Maibara, Shiga 521-0035. There is parking available at the museum.

Train and Walk
For those using public transportation, take the JR Hokuriku Line from Wakasa Station to Maibara Station. The journey takes about 20 minutes. Upon arrival at Maibara Station, exit the station and take a local taxi for about 15 minutes to the Museum of Wood Carving SAMEGAI located at 95 Samegai. Taxi fare will typically cost around 1,500 to 2,000 yen.

You can also take a bus from Wakasa to Maibara. Look for local bus services that head towards Maibara Station. Once at Maibara Station, you will need to take a taxi as described previously. The bus ride may take around 40 minutes and the fare is approximately 500 yen.
