Car Rental
If you are renting a car in the Kilimanjaro Region, start your journey from Moshi, which is a central hub for travelers. From Moshi, take the B1 road heading towards Arusha. After approximately 45 minutes, you will reach the entrance of Kilimanjaro National Park. Follow the signs to the Marangu Gate, which is the most popular starting point for treks up Kilimanjaro. Note that the entrance fee for Kilimanjaro National Park is around $70 per person (as of 2023). After registering at the gate, continue on the designated hiking trails towards Gillman's Point, which may require a guided tour or a pre-arranged trekking service.

Public Transportation (Matatu)
From Moshi, you can take a local matatu (shared minibus) heading to Marangu. The fare is usually around 1,500 TZS (Tanzanian Shillings). Once you arrive at Marangu, you will need to arrange for a local guide or join a trekking group to continue towards Gillman's Point. Ensure to book your trek in advance, as this may include transportation from Marangu to the Kilimanjaro National Park entrance, usually about $50-$100 depending on the service.
