Bus
From any location in Pointe aux Piments, walk to the nearest bus stop on the coastal road (Route Cotiere). Look for buses heading towards Port Louis. Ensure to catch a bus that is labeled for 'Chamarel' or 'Black River', as these will take you closer to your destination. The bus ride will take approximately 1 hour. Get off at the bus stop at 'Chamarel Village'. From there, you will need to walk a short distance to reach the entrance of Chamarel.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a local taxi. From any point in Pointe aux Piments, you can ask staff at your hotel or nearby establishments to call a taxi for you. Inform the driver that you want to go to Chamarel. The ride will take about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to agree on the fare beforehand or ask for the meter to be used.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and staying at a nearby resort, you may choose to walk. Head towards the main coastal road (Route Cotiere) and follow it south. This is a longer trek, approximately 14 km, so ensure you have plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes. Stay on the road until you reach Chamarel, following the signs along the way. It may take about 3-4 hours, so plan accordingly.
