Getting There

    From the center of Kathmandu, make your way to Ratna Park, which is a central point for many local buses. Look for a bus heading to Sundarijal; they are frequent. Once you board the bus, enjoy the scenic ride as it takes you northeast through the city. Ask the bus conductor to notify you when you reach Sundarijal. Upon reaching Sundarijal, disembark and walk towards the Sundarijal Hydropower Station. From there, you will see a well-marked trail leading up to Bagdwar. The trek from Sundarijal will take about 30-45 minutes, depending on your pace. Follow the trail, which goes through a beautiful forested area, and keep an eye out for signs directing you to Bagdwar.

    If you are staying in the Gokarneshwor area, you can also reach Bagdwar by walking directly. Head towards Gokarneshwor Temple, which is a well-known landmark. From the temple, continue walking northeast along the path until you reach Shivapuri National Park entrance. The trail to Bagdwar starts here. It may take approximately 1-1.5 hours to hike to Bagdwar from the temple, so ensure you have enough time and water for your journey.
