Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, start from the Abel Tasman National Park entrance at Marahau. Head north on the Riwaka-Sandy Bay Road (State Highway 60) for approximately 15 km until you reach the intersection with Canaan Road. Turn left onto Canaan Road and continue for about 7 km. You will see signs for Harwoods Hole; follow the signs and park in the designated area. The parking may incur a small fee, so be sure to have cash handy.

  • Public Transportation

    From Marahau, take the local bus service that operates in the Abel Tasman region. Ensure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to Canaan Road. Once you disembark, you will need to walk approximately 2 km along Canaan Road to reach Harwoods Hole.
