If you are driving, start on Highway 26 heading east. Continue for approximately 21 miles until you reach the junction with Highway 35. Take the exit for Highway 35 and head north for about 16 miles until you reach the town of Hood River. From Hood River, take I-84 eastbound. After about 8 miles, take exit 44 for Cascade Locks. Follow the signs to Cascade Locks, and once you enter the town, look for signs directing you to the Rock of Ages Trail. The trailhead is located at the end of Rock of Ages Trail, which is well-marked.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take the Columbia Gorge Express from Portland to Hood River. The bus runs daily and offers a scenic ride. Once you arrive in Hood River, you can catch the Columbia Area Transit (CAT) bus route that goes to Cascade Locks. Make sure to check the schedule ahead of time as the bus service may not be frequent. When you arrive in Cascade Locks, follow the signs to the Rock of Ages Trail. It is a short walk from the bus stop to the trailhead.
