Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from Huaraz, which is the nearest major city. Head southeast on the PE-3N road towards Yungay. After about 30 km, you will reach Yungay. From Yungay, continue on the same road for approximately 20 km until you see signs for Llanganuco Lakes. Follow the signs to the lakes. There is a parking area available near the lakes. Note that there may be a parking fee of around 10-20 soles.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Llanganuco Lakes by public transportation, first, take a bus from Huaraz to Yungay. Buses leave frequently from the main terminal in Huaraz, and the journey takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Once in Yungay, you can take a shared taxi or a local bus that goes directly to Llanganuco Lakes. The shared taxi ride will cost around 10-15 soles per person and takes about 30 minutes. If you choose the local bus, it may take longer but will be cheaper, typically around 5-10 soles.
