Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Huaraz. Take the PE-3N highway and head towards Carhuaz. After approximately 28 kilometers, turn off onto the road that leads to Parón Lake. This road is well-marked and you will pass through a village called Carhuaz. Continue for about 25 kilometers on this road until you reach the entrance to Parón Lake. The road is mostly in good condition, but be cautious of some rough patches, especially during the rainy season.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Huaraz to Carhuaz. Buses leave frequently from the main bus terminal in Huaraz and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Carhuaz, look for a shared taxi (colectivo) heading to Parón Lake. The colectivo ride will take approximately 45 minutes, and the fare is usually around 15-20 soles per person. Make sure to confirm that the driver is going directly to Parón Lake before you get in.

If you're already on the Alpamayo Circuit and prefer a more adventurous route, you can hike from the nearest campsite. Depending on your current location, the hike could take anywhere from 4 to 8 hours. Follow the established trails that are marked and ask locals for guidance if necessary. Ensure you have enough supplies, including water and food, as amenities are limited along the hiking route.
