Car
From the city center of Cajamarca, head southeast on Av. José María Arguedas toward Av. El Ejército. Continue straight onto Av. Huascar. After approximately 3 km, you will reach the intersection with the road to San Nicolás. Turn left onto this road, which is known as 'Carretera a San Nicolás'. Continue driving for about 30 km, following the signs to Laguna San Nicolás. The lake is situated on your right. There is no entrance fee, but make sure to have some cash for potential local vendors.
Public Transportation
From the main bus terminal in Cajamarca, take a bus heading to San Nicolás. Buses depart frequently, and the journey takes about 1 hour. The fare is around 5-10 soles (Peruvian currency). Once you arrive in San Nicolás, you can hire a local taxi or walk to Laguna San Nicolás, which is about 4 km away. Taxis may charge around 10-20 soles for the trip to the lake.
