Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from Cusco, take the Route 3S heading southeast towards Ocongate. The journey takes approximately 2.5 hours (around 100 km). Follow signs for Ocongate, and keep an eye out for the turnoff to Pacchanta Baja, which is near the coordinates 8P4P+R48, Ocongate 08170. Once you reach Ocongate, continue on the main road until you see signs directing you to Pacchanta Baja. Note that the roads can be winding and may have unpaved sections, so drive carefully.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Pacchanta Baja via public transportation, first, take a bus from Cusco to Ocongate. Buses to Ocongate depart from the main bus terminal in Cusco, and the trip usually takes around 3 hours, costing approximately 15-25 soles. Once you arrive in Ocongate, you can either walk to the hiking area if you feel up for it (about 30 minutes on foot) or hire a local taxi to take you directly to Pacchanta Baja for around 20 soles. Make sure to confirm the fare beforehand.

• Taxi or Ride-Sharing

  If you prefer a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi or using a ride-sharing app (if available) from Cusco to Pacchanta Baja. This option is more expensive, generally costing around 250-300 soles for the round trip. Make sure to negotiate the price beforehand and agree on a return time, as taxis may not be readily available in the area.
