Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, start from Huaraz, the main city near Huascaran National Park. Take the Avenida Luzuriaga and head towards the south-west on the PE-3N road. Continue on this road for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction to the town of Yungay. Turn right towards Yungay and follow the signs for the Huascaran National Park entrance. After entering the park, continue for about 20 kilometers to the Huallhua area. Keep an eye out for local signs directing you to Huallhua. Be prepared for some unpaved roads towards the end of your journey. Make sure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain. Parking is available near the Huallhua site.

    If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Huaraz to Yungay. Buses leave frequently from the main bus terminal in Huaraz and the fare is typically around 10-15 soles.
