If you're driving from Beira Alta, take the A1 motorway towards Porto. After about 1 hour and 30 minutes, take exit 15 for A20 toward Vila Nova de Gaia. Continue on A20 and follow signs for N222. Once you reach Vila Nova de Gaia, follow the signs for Miradouro da Serra do Pilar. You can park in the nearby areas, but be mindful of parking regulations. Note that some areas may require a parking fee, which can range from €0.50 to €1.50 per hour.

To reach Miradouro da Serra do Pilar using public transportation, start by taking a train from Beira Alta to Porto São Bento Station. The train ride takes approximately 2 hours. From Porto São Bento, walk to the São Bento Metro Station and take the metro line D (yellow line) towards Santo Ovídio. Get off at the Jardim do Morro station. From there, it’s a short 10-minute walk uphill to Miradouro da Serra do Pilar. Be aware that the metro ticket will cost around €1.20.
