Walking
If you are starting from the Guimarães train station, exit the station and head towards Avenida de António Sérgio. Turn left and walk straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Rua de São Domingos. Continue walking straight until you reach Praça de Santiago. From there, head towards the historic center, following the signs to the Castle of Guimarães. After visiting the castle, walk down towards the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza and continue through the scenic streets of the historic area until you reach Varanda de Pilatos, where Varanda dos Namorados is located. It should take around 20-25 minutes on foot.

Public Transport
From the Guimarães train station, board the local bus number 1 or 2 that heads towards the city center. Get off at the stop 'Praça de Santiago'. Once you exit the bus, walk towards the Castle of Guimarães. After visiting the castle, walk towards the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza, and then continue your journey through the historical streets until you arrive at Varanda de Pilatos. The bus ride is approximately 10 minutes, followed by a 10-minute walk.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local bike rental shops in the city center. Start from the central square (Praça de Santiago) and ride towards the Castle of Guimarães. After exploring the castle, cycle through the nearby park area heading towards Varanda de Pilatos. It should take around 15-20 minutes to reach your destination, enjoying the green spaces along the way.
