Getting There

  • Walking

    From the heart of Baixa, head towards Praça da Liberdade. Once you reach the square, look for the Avenida dos Aliados. Walk straight down this avenue and enjoy the beautiful architecture along the way. Continue until you reach the end of the avenue, where you'll see a steep hill to your right leading to the Cathedral. Follow the signs to Sé do Porto, which will guide you up the hill. The walk should take about 15-20 minutes.

  • Public Transport (Metro)

    If you prefer a quicker option, you can take the Metro. From the nearest metro station in Baixa, which is São Bento, board the Line A (Blue Line) towards Senhor de Matosinhos. Get off at the next stop, which is São Bento, and then exit the station. Turn left and follow the signs to Sé do Porto. It’s about a 10-minute walk uphill from the metro station to the Cathedral.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    Alternatively, you can take a bus. Look for the bus lines that stop at the Aliados or São Bento areas. The bus number 200 goes directly to the Cathedral area. Board the bus at any stop within Baixa and get off at the stop called 'Sé'. From there, it’s a brief walk to the Cathedral.
