Metro
To reach the Great Pond of El Retiro, start by heading to the nearest metro station. If you are close to the Gran Vía station, take Line 1 (the light blue line) towards Valdecarros. Get off at the Cuatro Caminos station, and transfer to Line 6 (the grey line) towards Ciudad Universitaria. Travel two stops and get off at the Avenida de América station. Here, transfer to Line 9 (the light purple line) towards Paco de Lucía. After two stops, alight at the Príncipe de Vergara station. From this station, exit and walk towards the Retiro Park. Continue straight for about 10 minutes until you see the Great Pond of El Retiro on your left.

Bus
If you prefer to take the bus, find the nearest bus stop. Look for bus line 15 or 19, which will take you towards Retiro Park. Board the bus and stay on until you reach the 'Paseo de Infanta Isabel - Menéndez Pelayo' stop. From there, walk straight across the street until you reach the entrance of Retiro Park. Once inside, follow the paths to the left, and you will soon arrive at the Great Pond of El Retiro.

Walking
If you're already in the Retiro area, simply walk towards the park. The Great Pond is located at P.º de Colombia, 2. As you walk towards the park, look for the main entrance on the corner of Calle de O'Donnell and Paseo de la República de Cuba. Once inside, follow the main path to the left, and after a short walk, you will see the Great Pond right in front of you. It’s a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the scenery.
