If you are already in Retiro Park, the Great Pond (Estanque Grande) is easily accessible. Start by heading towards the main path which runs through the park. Look for the large statue of Alfonso XII located near the pond. Walk towards the statue, and you will find the Great Pond directly in front of you. The pond is a popular spot for rowing boats, and there are several benches nearby where you can relax and enjoy the view.

Public Transport (Metro)
If you find yourself further away from the park, the nearest metro station is 'Retiro' on Line 2 (the red line). To get there, locate the nearest metro entrance and purchase a single ticket, which costs around €1.50. Once on the metro, ride in the direction of 'Cuatro Caminos' and disembark at 'Retiro'. Upon exiting the station, follow the signs to the park entrance. Once inside, navigate to the main pathways leading towards the Alfonso XII statue, which will guide you to the Great Pond.

You can also reach the park by taking the bus. Look for bus stops near your location and check for lines 2 (Circulares) or 20, which have stops near Retiro Park. A single bus ticket costs about €1.50. Once you get off at the nearest stop, walk towards the park entrance and follow the same pathways leading to the Great Pond as described above.
