Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from the main town of Badulla, take the A5 road towards Hali-Ela. Continue on the A5 for approximately 6 kilometers until you reach the junction with the Bogoda Bridge Road (look for the sign indicating Bogoda). Turn left onto Bogoda Bridge Road and follow it for about 2 kilometers. You will see signs pointing towards the Bogoda Old Wooden Bridge. The bridge is located just off this road; there is a small parking area nearby.

  • Public Transportation

    From Badulla, you can take a local bus heading towards Hali-Ela. The bus will cost around 30 LKR (Sri Lankan Rupees) and the journey will take about 20 minutes. Get off at the Bogoda Junction. From there, you can either walk approximately 1.5 kilometers along Bogoda Bridge Road or hire a tuk-tuk, which should cost around 200 LKR, to take you directly to the Bogoda Old Wooden Bridge. The bridge is a short walk from where the tuk-tuk drops you off.
