Getting There

    From Down, take the A1 road heading towards Edinburgh. Continue on the A1 for approximately 30 miles. Take the exit onto the A720 towards Edinburgh City Bypass. Follow the signs for the A7 and merge onto the A7. After about 3 miles, take the exit for Craigmillar Castle Road (B6415). Follow Craigmillar Castle Road for approximately 1 mile until you reach Craigmillar Castle, which will be on your left. Parking is available near the castle. Note that there may be a parking fee.

    From Down, head to the nearest train station and take a train towards Edinburgh Waverley Station. The journey will take around 1 hour. Upon arrival at Waverley Station, exit the station and catch the number 33 bus towards Craigmillar Castle. The bus will drop you off close to the castle after about a 30-minute ride. Be sure to check the bus schedules for any changes in service. A single bus fare is approximately £1.70.
