If you are driving, you can navigate to the National Museum of Scotland at Chambers St, Edinburgh EH1 1JF. From the M8 motorway, take the exit for the A720 (City Bypass) and follow signs for the city center. Use the A701 and A900 to reach the museum. Note that parking is limited in the city center; consider using the St. James Quarter car park or the NCP car park on Castle Terrace, which are nearby. Parking fees vary, so check the rates on-site.

If you are traveling by train, the nearest railway station is Edinburgh Waverley. Upon arrival, exit the station and head west along Market Street. Continue onto Waverley Bridge, then turn right onto Princes Street. Follow Princes Street until you reach the Mound, then turn left onto the Mound and walk straight until you reach Chambers St. The museum will be on your right. This walk takes approximately 15-20 minutes.

For those using public buses, you can take Lothian Buses routes 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 14, 15, 29, 30, 37, and 49 to the Museum. Alight at the 'Museum of Scotland' bus stop, which is right outside the entrance. A single adult fare is around £1.80, and you can pay using cash or a contactless card.

If you're near the tram line, you can take the Edinburgh Trams towards York Place. Alight at the 'St Andrew Square' stop. From there, it’s about a 10-minute walk. Head west on St Andrew Square, continue onto North St Andrew Street, then follow the road as it turns into South St David Street. Turn left onto the Mound and continue to Chambers Street. The museum is located just off Chambers Street.
