  • Walking

    If you're starting from the city center, begin at the Edinburgh Waverley train station. Exit the station onto Waverley Bridge. Turn left onto Market Street and continue straight until you reach North Bridge. Cross over North Bridge to get onto the Royal Mile. Walk along the Royal Mile, and when you reach the junction with South Bridge, turn left onto South Bridge. Continue until you reach the intersection with Holyrood Road. Turn right onto Holyrood Road, and then left onto Regent Road. Follow Regent Road until you reach the entrance to Calton Hill. The hill will be on your right.

    From the city center, head to the nearest bus stop, which is located on North Bridge. Take bus number 8, 29, or 31 towards 'Duddingston'. Get off at the 'Calton Hill' stop. From the bus stop, walk back a little and take the path leading up to Calton Hill. Follow the path as it winds up the hill to reach the main viewpoints and monuments.
