Getting There

• Walking

  If you are near Liverpool Lime Street Station, exit the station and head towards St. George's Hall. From there, walk down William Brown Street until you reach St. John's Gardens. Continue straight and join the main road, Lime Street. Walk for about 15 minutes, passing the Royal Albert Dock on your right. As you approach the waterfront, keep heading towards the Pier Head area. The Museum of Liverpool is located at Pier Head, Mann Island, right next to the waterfront and the iconic Liver Building.

• Bus

  To reach the Museum of Liverpool by bus, head to the nearest bus stop. If you are near the city center, take bus number 26 or 75 from Queen Square Bus Station, which runs regularly. Inform the driver that you are going to the Museum of Liverpool. The journey will take about 10-15 minutes. Get off at the stop nearest to Mann Island and follow the signs to the museum, which is located at Pier Head.

• Ferry

  For a scenic route, consider taking the Mersey Ferry from Pier Head. If you are anywhere near the waterfront, head to the ferry terminal and board the ferry heading towards Seacombe or Woodside. Enjoy the short ride across the Mersey River (approximately 10 minutes). Upon arrival, walk back onto the ferry terminal and take the bus number 82 or 86 back to Pier Head. The Museum of Liverpool will be a short walk from the bus stop.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a direct route, you can hail a taxi or use a rideshare app. Simply tell the driver to take you to the Museum of Liverpool at Pier Head, Mann Island. The journey will typically take about 5-10 minutes from most locations in the city center, depending on traffic.
