Carter Lane Gardens: An Urban Oasis in the Heart of London

Getting There

• Tube

  If you're starting from central London, take the London Underground to St. Paul's Station (Central Line). Once you arrive at St. Paul's Station, exit the station and head towards the front of St. Paul's Cathedral. From the cathedral, walk towards the east side, and you will find Carter Lane Gardens located at St. Paul's Churchyard, a short walk away. The gardens are directly adjacent to the churchyard, providing a lovely green space to enjoy.

  You can take a bus to reach Carter Lane Gardens. If you are near Trafalgar Square, catch bus number 11 towards Waterloo or bus number 15 towards Blackwall. Get off at the stop 'St. Paul's Cathedral.' From the bus stop, walk towards St. Paul's Cathedral, and you will find Carter Lane Gardens at St. Paul's Churchyard, just a few minutes' walk away from the cathedral.

  If you are already in the vicinity of the City of London, you can walk to Carter Lane Gardens. From Fleet Street, head south towards St. Paul's Cathedral. Once you reach the cathedral, walk around to the east side, and you will see the entrance to Carter Lane Gardens at St. Paul's Churchyard. This is a pleasant stroll and allows you to enjoy the historic architecture of the area.

• Cycling

  For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a Santander Cycle (Boris Bike) and ride to Carter Lane Gardens. There are docking stations near major attractions like the London Eye or Covent Garden. Once you have a bike, cycle towards St. Paul's Cathedral, using the cycle lanes on the roads. There are bike racks available near the churchyard where you can securely park your bike. The gardens are located right next to the cathedral at St. Paul's Churchyard.
