Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Lairg, head northwest on the A839 towards the A837. After about 10 miles, turn left onto the A838. Continue for approximately 15 miles until you reach the junction near Lochinver. Turn left onto the A495 towards Achmelvich. Follow this road for about 2 miles, and you will find the sign for Achmelvich Beach on your right. The beach has a parking area, but depending on the season, there may be a small parking fee.

    To reach Achmelvich Beach via public transport, start by taking a bus from Lairg to Lochinver. The bus service is operated by Stagecoach and may not run frequently, so check the timetable in advance.
