Starting from York Minster, head south towards the intersection with St. Leonard's Place. Turn left onto St. Leonard's Place and continue straight until you reach the traffic lights at the junction with The Stonebow. Cross the road at the traffic lights and proceed to the right onto Pavement Street. Continue along Pavement Street until you arrive at the intersection with Walmgate. Turn left onto Walmgate and walk straight for about 10 minutes. Walmgate Bar will be on your right, marked by its distinctive stone archway.

If you are starting from the York Railway Station, exit the station and head north on Station Road. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout, then take the first exit onto Blossom Street. Follow Blossom Street until you reach the traffic lights at the junction with Walmgate. Turn left onto Walmgate and walk straight for about 5 minutes. Walmgate Bar will be on your left, easily identifiable by its historic structure.

From the Shambles, a popular tourist area, exit onto Shambles and head towards the junction with Market Street. Turn left onto Market Street, which will lead you to Parliament Street. Continue straight until you reach the traffic lights at the intersection with St. Sampson's Square. Cross the road and follow the path leading to Walmgate. Continue walking along Walmgate for about 15 minutes, and Walmgate Bar will be on your right.
