Walking
If you are starting from York Minster, exit the Minster grounds and head southwest towards Minster Yard. Continue straight onto High Petergate. At the end of High Petergate, turn left onto Stonegate. Walk along Stonegate until you reach the end, where it merges into Petergate. Continue straight until you reach the junction with the A1036. Cross the road and walk towards Exhibition Square. The York Art Gallery will be on your left at Exhibition Square, YO1 7EW.

From the York Railway Station, exit the station and head northeast toward Station Road. Turn left onto Station Road, then right onto the A1036 (Leeman Road). Walk straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the junction with the A19. Cross over and continue walking straight. You will see Exhibition Square ahead. The York Art Gallery is located on your right at Exhibition Square, YO1 7EW.

One good option is to take the number 1 or 5 bus, which travels through the city center.
