Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the center of Hanoi, start at Hoan Kiem Lake. Head northwest towards Dinh Tien Hoang Street, then take a left on Hang Khay Street which becomes Trang Thi Street. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Nguyen Thai Hoc Street. Turn right onto Nguyen Thai Hoc and walk straight until you reach Ba Dinh Square. From Ba Dinh Square, walk towards the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. The Stilt House is located to the right of the mausoleum, within the Ho Chi Minh Complex. Look for the signs directing you to Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House.

    Locate the nearest bus stop and take Bus No. 9, 18, or 22 heading to Ba Dinh. Get off at 'Ngọc Hà' stop. After exiting the bus, walk straight along Ngọc Hà Street. You will see Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House on your left after about a 5-minute walk. Follow the signs that lead you to the entrance.

    You can hire a cyclo from popular tourist spots like the Old Quarter. Tell the driver to take you to Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House located at 1 P. Ngọc Hà, Ba Đình.
