    From downtown Bellingham, walk to the Bellingham Intermodal Transit Center located at 401 Harris Ave, Bellingham, WA 98225. Board the Skagit Transit Route 70 bus towards Mount Vernon. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the stop for 'Rockport' or 'WA-20 & Rockport', depending on the specific stop the bus makes. Once you exit the bus, you will need to walk approximately 0.5 miles to reach Ross Lake National Recreation Area. Follow WA-20 eastbound, and you will find the entrance to the park on your left.

  • Biking

    If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike shops in Bellingham. Start at the Bellingham Bay waterfront and follow the South Bay Trail towards Fairhaven. From Fairhaven, take the Chuckanut Drive (WA-11) north, connecting to WA-20. This route is approximately 30 miles, so be prepared for a longer ride. Once you reach Rockport, follow WA-20 until you find the entrance to Ross Lake National Recreation Area on your left.

    Walking to Ross Lake National Recreation Area from Bellingham is not practical due to the distance, as it is approximately 60 miles away.
