Car
Start from any location in The Methow Valley, such as Winthrop or Twisp. Head east on WA-20 E (North Cascades Highway). Continue on WA-20 E for approximately 30 miles until you reach the junction with US-97. Take a right onto US-97 S and drive for about 23 miles. Follow signs for Lake Chelan and turn left onto WA-150 E towards Chelan. Continue on WA-150 E until you reach the town of Chelan. From Chelan, you can take a scenic ferry ride from the Chelan boat launch to Stehekin, which is the gateway to Lake Chelan National Recreation Area. The ferry ride takes about 1.5 hours and costs approximately $45 for adults, $22 for children (ages 6-11).

To reach Lake Chelan National Recreation Area using public transportation, take the Link Transit bus from the Methow Valley to Wenatchee. From Wenatchee, transfer to a shuttle service or bus that goes to Chelan. Once in Chelan, you can catch the ferry to Stehekin.
