Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from Yerevan and take the M1 highway heading towards Ashtarak. After approximately 25 kilometers, exit onto the M3 road towards Garni. Continue on the M3 for about 15 kilometers until you reach the village of Geghard. From Geghard, follow the signs towards the Geghama Mountains. You will need to navigate through a series of winding roads. Once you reach the outskirts of the Geghama Mountains, look for dirt roads leading up towards Gegham Ridge (follow GPS coordinates: 40.2012339, 45). Ensure your vehicle is suitable for off-road travel as some paths may be rugged.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Gegham Ridge via public transportation, take a marshrutka (minibus) from Yerevan to Garni. Marshrutkas leave from the Kilikia Bus Station. The fare is approximately 500 AMD. From Garni, you can hire a taxi to take you to the village of Geghard, which should cost around 2000-3000 AMD.
