If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Hobart, which is approximately 80 km from Mount Field West. Take the Tasman Highway (A3) towards Sorell. After about 30 minutes, turn left onto the Tasman Highway/A3, and continue for another 40 km. Take the exit to Mount Field National Park (C202). Follow the signs to Mount Field West. Expect to pay an entry fee for the national park, which is around AUD 24 per vehicle for a day pass.

To reach Mount Field West using public transport, take a bus from Hobart to the town of New Norfolk. From there, you will need to book a taxi or rideshare service to cover the remaining distance of approximately 35 km to Mount Field West. Be aware that services may run infrequently, so check the bus schedules ahead of time. The bus fare from Hobart to New Norfolk is around AUD 10, and a taxi from New Norfolk to Mount Field West may cost approximately AUD 70-90.
