If you are traveling by car, start from Hobart, the capital of Tasmania. Take the Southern Outlet (A6) north towards the Midland Highway (A1). Merge onto the Midland Highway and follow the signs for Launceston. After approximately 2 hours, take the exit towards Devonport via the Bass Highway (A1). Continue on the Bass Highway until you reach the turnoff for Cradle Mountain Road (B51) near the town of Sheffield. Follow Cradle Mountain Road for about 30 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. There is an entry fee of approximately AUD 25 per vehicle for a day pass.
