This complex also includes the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC), Juscelino Kubitschek Square, and other notable landmarks. The theater's design showcases Niemeyer's signature style, with sleek curves, bold lines, and a predominantly white facade. One side of the building features a vibrant yellow tile wall adorned with stylized female figures, reminiscent of Niemeyer's other works. The building's undulating roof is said to resemble ocean waves when viewed from above. Access to the theater is via a distinctive spiral ramp. Inside, the Teatro Popular boasts a spacious auditorium with state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, ensuring an immersive experience for every performance. A unique feature of the theater is its reversible stage, which can be opened to an outdoor plaza accommodating up to 10,000 spectators, blending indoor and outdoor performance spaces.
