Hiking
If you are starting from the General Grant Tree area, head south on the Congress Trail. After approximately 1 mile, you will reach the junction with the North Grove Trail. Take a left on the North Grove Trail and continue for another 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with the Generals Highway. Cross the highway carefully and follow the signs for Hospital Rock Picnic Area, which is about 1 mile east along the path.

From the Giant Forest Museum, take the Crescent Meadow Loop Trail. Walk along this loop for about 2 miles, enjoying the stunning scenery. When you reach the junction with the road, head down toward the Generals Highway. Follow the highway east for about 0.5 miles until you see the sign for Hospital Rock Picnic Area. The entrance will be on your right.

If you are coming from the Lodgepole Campground, start by walking east on the main trail that leads toward the Visitor Center. After about 0.8 miles, take a right onto the road leading to the Generals Highway. Follow the road for about 1 mile, where you'll find the Hospital Rock Picnic Area on your right. Make sure to watch for signs along the way.
