Car
From major locations in Sierra Nevada, such as Fresno or Bakersfield, take CA-99 South. Then merge onto CA-65 North towards Porterville. Continue on CA-65 until you reach CA-190 East. Follow CA-190 through the Sequoia National Forest. After about 35 miles, turn right onto Mountain Road 50 (also known as the Blackrock Road) and follow it until you reach the Golden Trout Wilderness area. This road may require a high-clearance vehicle depending on the conditions, so be sure to check the current road status before your trip.

Public Transportation + Car
If you are coming from Los Angeles, you can take a Greyhound bus to Bakersfield. From Bakersfield, you will need to rent a car to reach Golden Trout Wilderness. Follow the directions given above once you have a vehicle. Depending on your bus schedule, consider overnighting in Bakersfield if necessary.
