Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the center of Tahoe City at Commons Beach. Head south on N Lake Blvd (CA-89) towards the intersection with W Lake Blvd. Continue on N Lake Blvd for about 0.5 miles until you reach the junction with CA-89. At this junction, turn left onto CA-89 South and follow it for approximately 10 miles. You will pass through scenic views and several small pullouts. Keep an eye out for Emerald Bay State Park signs. After approximately 10 miles, you will see the entrance to Emerald Bay State Park on your right.

  • Biking

    Rent a bike in Tahoe City and begin at Commons Beach. Take N Lake Blvd (CA-89) south for about 0.5 miles until you reach W Lake Blvd. Continue straight on CA-89 South for about 10 miles. The ride is mostly flat, but there are a few hills. Look for the signs for Emerald Bay State Park as you approach. The entrance will be on your right after about 10 miles. Make sure to have a bike lock to secure your bike while you explore.

    From Tahoe City, walk to the nearest bus stop and take the South Shore Transit (Route 50) towards Stateline. You will ride for about 30 minutes, getting off at the Emerald Bay State Park stop.
