Discover more about Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center

The Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center (CWWC) offers a unique opportunity to witness wolves and other wild canids in a safe and enriching environment. Founded in 2003 by Darlene Kobobel, the center's mission is to rescue, care for, and preserve wolves and other wild canids while educating the public about their importance in the ecosystem. The center is home to a variety of wolves, including the rare American Red wolf, Mexican gray wolves, and Arctic wolves, as well as coyotes and foxes. These animals reside in large, natural enclosures that mimic their native habitats, providing space for physical activity, socialization, and enrichment. Visitors can observe the animals' behaviors, hear their howls, and learn about their individual stories on guided walking tours. CWWC is actively involved in conservation efforts, participating in Species Survival Plan (SSP) programs and maintaining certifications from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the American Sanctuary Association (ASA). The center also advocates for wolf protection through legislative efforts and public awareness campaigns. Beyond the standard tours, CWWC offers immersive experiences such as Full Moon Tours, VIP encounters, and seasonal events. These interactive programs allow guests to engage more closely with the animals and learn about the center's conservation mission. The visitor center features educational displays, a gift shop, and rest areas, ensuring an informative and engaging experience for all.
